Under IMO regulation on NOx (Nitrogen Oxides) of marine diesel engine exhaust gas, vessels with its keel laying after 1/1/2016 are required to meet Tier-III limitation through NOx reduction technology, SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system.
According to Clarksons, a research firm, a sudden increase of SCR system installation for commercial and offshore vessels voyaging ECA (Emission Control Area) has been found from 2007. This is a wise choice for ship owners who prefer tax benefit and environmental friendly branding, marked the Clarksons.
PANASIA, a Korea based company with developed green technology, has a record of first domestic SCR system provision followed by PSV (Pipe Supply Vessel), FSU (Floating Storage Unit) and Drill Ship in their records. The latest records were a 180,000m3 LNG Carrier (Gaslog, option 1 vessel included) and three 157K Crude Oil Tankers.
The records are especially meaningful as first provision of ‘PaNOx™ SV 2.0’ (Smart Version). The new version is highly cost effective, quality improved and space optimized through the application of modularization of Reactor and AIG unit including Smart HMI software.
PaNOx™ SV 2.0 will be supplied first quarter of 2018 and the provider is equipped with portable analyzer to be capable for self-analyzation and on-board test. This preparation is expected to lead PANASIA to cover customer’s requests from A to Z.
For market diversification, PANASIA has provided SCR system for CCPP (Combined Cycle Power Plant) to Ulsan, Pyongtaek and Hanam power plant. NOx and SOx (Sulphur Oxides) reduction systems are in a recent record book from GE PSK for CCPP of Jeju Island. Overseas NOx reduction system records come from California, U.S.A., for local industrial boiler and HRSG (Heat Recovery System Generator).
A researcher of PANASIA noted, “It is first in Korea to have the EIAPP (Engine International Air Pollution Prevention) Scheme B Certificate and record books from on and offshore sectors. And PaSOx™ system for IMO SOx regulation coming from 2020 is very close for its launching to market.
