PANASIA Takes the Next Step Towards a Sustainable Future

PANASIA, an eco-friendly marine equipment supplier, has been providing marine instruments such as level measurement systems, SCR, BWTS, and SOx Scrubbers since its establishment in 1989. With a steadfast position in the marine industry, PANASIA is now expanding its business by introducing new products, including the Onboard Carbon Capture Storage system (OCCS).

The OCCS captures carbon dioxide from the exhaust gas of ships using a solid-type method after combustion. The concept of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a device widely used in the onshore plant industry to capture carbon dioxide. To apply this technology to ships, it is crucial to minimize the size of the towers required for the equipment to fit on ships with limited space. Unlike onshore plants that have no height restrictions, ships have limitations on the height of the tower required for CCS. Therefore, the sizing of each tower needs to be optimized according to the characteristics of each ship. PANASIA is conducting continuous tests on its barge ships to design the minimum tower size required to capture carbon dioxide.

The second consideration is the efficiency of the solvent used to capture carbon dioxide. Similarly, tanks must be placed on ships to store the solvent required for the CCS process, and it is necessary to supply high-efficiency solvents. PANASIA is conducting continuous research and development to develop solvents optimized for CCS while providing stability in the distribution network by directly supplying solvents to customers.
