Panasia Co(stand 4.117) and Tallinn shipyard, part of Estonia’s BLRT Group, have signed LOI to retrofit a ballast water treatment system on up to 86 vessels run by Wilson Ship Management of Norway.

Signed June 4 on Panasia’s stand, the LOI covers a BWT system retrofitting programme from 2014 to 2017. Wilson is mainly managing general cargo ships and bulk carriers in the European and USA markets.

“We consider this a remarkable achievement after Panasia obtained government type approval in December, 2009”, said Peter Yoon, V.P of Panasia.

He said competition is intense among the more than 60 BWTS makers, with more entering the market.

Panasia has remained the lead in the BWTS market by upgrading its products to reflect it’s accumulated experience and know-how gained through delivery of its system to more than 400 ships. We have experience in in, and feedback for operation of the products on the ship is most valuable” said Yoon.
